Including entry tasks, agendas and unit vocabulary as components to every lesson

Artifact Justification

Along with the rest of the high school teachers, at the beginning of my student teaching, I was tasked with implementing daily entry tasks as a part of my lessons. Luckily for me, I had already been planning on utilizing this practical method of settling in the class and providing some order to begin from. About mid-way through my student teaching, as a school we added vocabulary as key elements to each lesson. This time I needed to increase the frequency I was explicitly teaching vocab, but because I maintained a predictable rhythm to the class period, it was simple to layer in a new step.

This evolving practice of daily routines and providing predictability to students exemplifies the standard Planning for Instruction by showcasing one of my systems. Entry task slides are something I maintain for every class and try to get creative with, while keeping things consistent. This is a gallery of some of my favorite slides.
